Not all the drivers in qualifying may race!

1 Jan

The FIA will be introducing the rule where by any driver who qualifies 107% or more than the pole lap will not be able to start the race, although in some circumstances drivers would be able to race anyway, e.g. if Q3 was in the dry whilst the other sessions are in the wet. This seems ridiculous as it make the new teams from last year struggle to be able to continue, and will put off a lot of teams hoping to enter into F1.

Although all the drivers at last seasons Abu Dhabi race would have qualified, at South Korea three drivers wouldn’t have started, throughout all of the races the team who does the worst is Hispania, who had an awful record at qualifying.
