3 GP2 drivers to watch.

Romain Grosjean: Is this years GP2 champion securing the title in the penultimate round of the year. If the name sounds familiar to you that’s probably because he drove 7 races for Renault in 2009 replacing Nelson Piquet JR. Few drivers have managed to have two attempts in F1 and many are expecting Romain to join that list as the GP2 champion generally joins a F1 team the year after and with him already the reserve driver for Renault Romain will probably enter through Renault.

Giedo van der Garde: Last year the runner up in GP2 (Sergio Perez) made it to F1 and has outperformed the 2010 GP2 Champion (Pastor Maldonado), with this Giedo should be expecting to drive for an F1 team next year maybe replacing Barrichello at Williams or joining one of the newer teams. Like Romain Giedo has some F1 experience, he joined the McLaren young drivers program in 2006 and in 2007 he was the reserve driver for Super Aguri F1, and most recently was a candidate for the 2nd Virgin seat last tear.

Jules Bianchi: At 22 he’s the youngest of the 3 but he’s already got a massive CV, he was widely expected to replace Felipe Massa when he got injured in 2009, and after testing for Ferrari in the young drivers test last year he was signed up by Ferrari to join the young drivers academy and is there reserve driver. At such a young age I’m not expecting him to join an F1 team next year but as he’s part of the young drivers academy with Perez I envisage in a 5 years time it will  be Bianchi and Perez leading the Scuderia’s chance for the title.
