Fastest Sector Championship post China

16 Apr

This is the second time I’ve released the championship standings and if you can remember back to 3 weeks ago Mark Webber was the leader. This one takes times from FP3 split into their relevant sectors. The 6 fastest sector one times get points 6-5-4-3-2-1 the same happens for S2 and then for S3. Here are the standings so far:

  1. Lewis Hamilton               McLaren                32              (last week 4th)
  2. Mark Webber                   Red Bull                  27              (1st)
  3. Jenson Button                  McLaren               26               (6th)
  4. Nico Rosberg                   Mercedes               23                (2nd)
  5. Michael Schumacher     Mercedes              21                 (5th)
  6. Sebastian Vettel               Red Bull                20                (7th)
  7. Romain Grosjean            Lotus                      17                (3rd)
  8. Pastor Maldonado          Williams              10                 (8th)
  9. Kimi Raikkonen              Lotus                     5                   (9th)
  10. Sergio Perez                      Sauber                   4                   (-)
  11. Nico Hulkenburg            Force India          3                   (-)
  12. Daniel Ricciardo            Toro Rosso            1                  (10th)

As you can see it’s all change so far up at the top and the biggest risers are the McLaren duo of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. It’s still bad news for Ferrari neither of their drivers has a single point.

  1. McLaren             58             (last week 3rd)
  2. Red Bull              47              (2nd)
  3. Mercedes            44               (1st)
  4. Lotus                    22              (4th)
  5. Williams             10              (5th)
  6. Sauber                   4               (-)
  7. Force India          3                (-)
  8. Toro Rosso          1                (6th)

Not only have McLaren rose from 3rd to 1st they also have an 11 point lead. Already this championship has a break away as the gap between 3rd and 4th is now 22 points.
