Hamaya Practice Championship standings round 3.

16 Apr

Week 3 has brought a start to people increasing their lead at the top but it is still between Hamilton and Mercedes leading their championships. Remember that this takes place in every practice session of the weekend and in each session the fastest driver picks up 8 points down to 1 point for the 8th fastest. Here are the standings after round 3:

  1. Lewis Hamilton                       McLaren               54               (last week 1st)

  13. Pastor Maldonado                   Williams             7                   (15th)
  14. Daniel Ricciardo                      Toro Rosso         6                   (12th)

  16. Felipe Massa                            Ferrari                  2                    (16th)
  17. Heikki Kovalainen                  Caterham            1                     (17th)
  18. Jean-Eric Vergne                    Toro Rosso          1                    (18th)

Very little has changed in the drivers standings and only really the Sauber drivers appear to have moved up. At the same time Felipe Massa is still all the way down in 16th.

  1. Mercedes                     92                 (1st)
  2. McLaren                     87                 (2nd)
  3. Red Bull                      57                  (3rd)
  4. Sauber                         24                  (7th)
  5. Lotus                           22                  (4th)
  6. Ferrari                         15                  (5th)
  7. Force India                12                  (6th)
  8. Toro Rosso                 7                    (8th)
  9. Williams                     7                    (9th)
  10. Caterham                    1                    (10th)

We’re only 3 weekends in and yet the race seems to just be between Mercedes and McLaren, although there is maybe a chance of Red Bull coming back if they can turn the car around.
