Speed trap standings post Bahrain

23 Apr

This is the most trivial of the fake championships and is the only one really that isn’t between the standard big 4. It takes place in FP3 and quite simply you get points for being the fastest through the speed trap. Fastest takes home 15 points, 2nd gets 12, 3rd 9, 4th 6 and 5th gets 3. Here are the Drivers standings post China:

  1. Sergio Perez             Sauber            30         (last week 1st)
  2. Romain Grosjean  Lotus               27         (3rd)
  3. Kimi Raikkonen    Lotus               27         (6th)
  4. Kamui Kobayashi  Sauber            21         (2nd)
  5. Lewis Hamilton     McLaren       12          (4th)
  6. Nico Rosberg          Mercedes       12         (5th)
  7. Heikki Kovalainen  Caterham    12         (7th)
  8. Michael Schumacher  Mercedes  9         (8th)
  9. Daniel Ricciardo    Toro Rosso    9         (9th)
  10. Nico Hulkenburg   Force India    9        (-)
  11. Jean-Eric Vergne   Toro Rosso    6        (10th)
  12. Paul Di Resta          Force India    6        (-)

Sergio Perez retains his lead, but only just as he picked up no points this weekend, team mate Kamui Kobayashi picked up Sauber’s only points this weekend but his 3 points weren’t enough to stop him falling from 2nd to 4th.

Teams:

  1. Lotus             54          (last week 2nd)
  2. Sauber          51           (1st)
  3. Mercedes     21           (3rd)
  4. Toro Rosso  15          (4th)
  5. Force India   15         (-)
  6. McLaren       12          (5th)
  7. Caterham      12         (6th)

Would you believe it, the lead is currently between Lotus and Sauber? Well it is and it’s a big gap 30 points. Force India have started their points haul strong and are 15th after picking up all their 12 points this weekend.
